COVER ME IN SUNSHINE...

Isn't life just better when the sun is shining?

It's hard to have a bad day when you've got the warm sun sprinkling over you like pure rays of joy, and a crisp cold beverage in your hand. That's until you overdo it and that warm feeling turns into a blistering sunburn *dun dun dun*.

We at SKINxERIN take proper sunscreen protocol VERY seriously. We don't care if you're going out for 20 minutes or 12 hours, put the block on. But did you know that there are other ways you can boost your skin's natural UV tolerance?

Check out some of the ways you can help your skin SAFELY soak up the sun (in addition to sunscreen).

VITAMIN C

Vitamin C is a pretty well known celebrity in the skincare community. It helps brighten skin by promoting healthy collagen production. It also helps boost antioxidants that help fight against free radicals that can cause UV damage.

Vitamin C might already be part of your daily supplements but you can also get an extra dose by adding citrus, strawberries, and bell peppers to your menu.

HEALTHY FATS

You've got to love those Omega-3's. The healthy fats found in foods such as salmon, herring, and chia seeds help reduce inflammation and can protect your skin against sunburn and melanoma.

VITAMIN E

Vitamin E is known for its impressive anti-inflammatory properties. It can heal and even prevent damage caused by UV rays to your skin. It also helps your body better absorb the Vitamin D you get from the sun.

The organic Argan Oil found in our Perfecting Night Oil is an excellent source for Vitamin E.

LYCOPENE

Ditch your red skin by eating some red fruit. Fruits like watermelon, papaya, and tomatoes are an excellent source of the antioxidant Lycopene.

Lycopene is known to improve skins natural UV defense and can help reverse acute skin damage caused by the sun.

Just another reason to love watermelon.
