LET'S GET SPICY...

It's no secret that nutrition can play a big part in healthy looking skin. That being said, you might not be ready to throw out all of the bread, cheese, and wine in your house (we don't blame you).

A small step you could take towards healing your skin from within is adding some of these herbs and spices to your diet. It's just one of many simple steps you can take to naturally improve your skin.

TURMERIC

If you've ever sampled a traditional curry you may already be familiar with the spice Turmeric. This rhizome plant native to Southeast Asia is known for it's powerful anti-inflammatory properties.

That's because Turmeric's high concentrations of the antioxidant curcumin helps manage the production of melanin which can help diminish dark spots and blemishes on the skin.

THYME

Thyme is a classic herb that you probably already have in your seasoning arsenal. Which is good because Thyme helps naturally improve blood flow to your skin.

All that improved circulation can help in the healing of skin ailments such as acne or scars.

GINGER

Ginger spice is more than our favorite Spice Girl, it also has amazing benefits for your skin (the spice not the singer).

It might be easier to tell you all the things ginger doesn't do for your skin but what fun would that be.

Ginger has natural antibacterial properties that can prove to be a powerful acne assassin. It also has antioxidants that help rejuvenate the skin by flushing out toxins, evening skin tone, and reducing signs of aging.

CINNAMON

This might be the easiest spice to add to your menu. That's because it's delicious sprinkled in your coffee, tea, yogurt and like every baked good ever.

Cinnamon can help boost collagen production and promote cellular turnover which translates to younger looking skin. It also contains antioxidants that can help protect your skin from free radicals.
