In March of this year Hailey Bieber shared a makeup-free video on TikTok that showed a recent flare-up of POD (perioral dermatitis) on her face.

In August of this year, Joey King shared on TikTok that she had been dealing with POD (perioral dermatitis) for seven months.

Celebrity skin is dropping like flies, and I know why.. 

In case you don’t know, Perioral dermatitis is a rash-like eruption that occurs most commonly in young, female adults, consisting of small inflammatory papules and pustules or pink, scaly patches around the mouth.

POD is on the rise because you know what else is? ACTIVES.

I happen to know for a fact that Hailey Bieber and Joey King both use Retinoids, Vitamin C serums, and other actives in their skincare routines.

I also happen to know for a fact that using active ingredients in multiple skincare products is a recipe for a POD break out. And I’m not down with POD. Yeah, you know me.

So please, for the love of God, let us all stop pretending we don’t know what causes Perioral Dermatitis when we do know.
